On Sunday, Casillas gives an emotional farewell, the club unfollows him on Twitter and Reuters reporter Iain Rogers notes how in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo (via the Daily Mail), his mum is very critical with how the club treated his exit.

On Monday, there was a moment of peace of sorts, as he again was given another sendoff, this time posing with the trophy haul he built up during his tenure at the Bernabeu, which is turning into a thing when a legend departs a club.

But while the sight of Casillas along with his sparkly silverware is a welcome one, as it turns out most of the 2,000 who showed up for the event spent the time heckling Madrid president Florentino Perez.

As per the Guardian's Sid Lowe:

"

Casillas appeared and they chanted his name as he made his way, first toward the trophies and then towards them.

But, while their numbers were relatively small with this act held before lunchtime on a working day, probably more significant were the other chants: "Sergio Ramos is not for sale!" directed not so much at Manchester United as Perez, and "Florentino, resign!"

This was not really a fond farewell for Casillas and nor did it do that much to repair the damage done a day before. It may have made it worse.

"

See the video of the fan chants below:

The act is hardly unprecedented in Madrid. When Gareth Bale was unveiled at the Bernabeu in 2013, fans chanted at the president "Don't sell Ozil" amidst rumours that the club would sell Mesut Ozil to Arsenal, which they eventually did.
