Real Madrid's Official Twitter Account Unfollows Iker Casillas After His Exit
The most surefire way to know a breakup is official: the Twitter unfollow.
It was only Saturday Real Madrid officially announced they had reached an agreement to send the legendary goalkeeper off to Porto.
Not long after, some keen Madristas watching the club's official account with a close eye saw that not long after Real Madrid had been publicly celebrating his tenure, they unfollowed him on the account.
One minute, these:
"Real Madrid’s official twitter account [@realmadrid] has unfollowed Iker Casillas. [@CasillasWorld] pic.twitter.com/5vCcTBxJ4o
— SocialRMadrid (@SocialRMadrid) July 12, 2015"
The next, they unfollow him.
It's worth noting the club's English-speaking account still follows Casillas.
We find it hard to believe the man the club's fans call "Saint Iker" will be remotely offended by the move, but it still seems like a quick and unnecessary move toward a player who will forever be associated with the Real Madrid name.
Fans were not incredibly thrilled by the move.
