Bears' Caleb Williams Says Packers Fans 'Suck,' Talks Lambeau Leap on Video

Adam WellsJun 21, 2025

Caleb Williams has stoked the flames of the already-intense rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers by not having kind things to say about Packers fans.

During an appearance at Fanatics Fest on Friday, Williams said Packers fans "suck" when asked about any negative fan interactions he had during his rookie season.

Williams proceeded to tell a story about how Packers fans in the stands at Lambeau Field were "pushing" opposing players who were attempting to do the Lambeau Leap to greet Bears fans after their 24-22 victory over their NFC North rivals in Week 18:

"After the game, after we won at Lambeau—1-0 at Lambeau—we tried to do the Lambeau Leap, tried to jump into the crowd where our fans were. [Packers fans] just started throwing everything at you, push you off. The Lambeau Leap, it’s a real leap. It’s not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically. And they’re pushing you, pushing your face."

The moment during the Week 18 game garnered attention because a photograph showed one Packers fan pushing Bears linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga when they were celebrating after Cairo Santos' game-winning field goal as time expired.

Gigi Michele, the fan at the center of the situation, told WFRV Local 5 in Green Bay afterward that she was "defending our legacy" by trying to keep Bears players down:

"When they were jumping towards us, they were trash-talking the whole time, saying ‘you’re not going to be able to push us down’ and ‘this is our house’ and we aren’t going to let them say those things. They looked directly at us [and] thought they could jump right into the stands because we couldn’t push them down, well that isn’t what happened. We used all our might, I’m not sure where I got that strength from."

Michele did point out that Bears players didn't even do the Lambeau Leap correctly because "you’re supposed to jump up and put your butt on the seat" and sarcastically encouraged them to "study it if they want to do it next time."

This is not the first time Packers fans have tried to protect the sanctity of the leap. Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon was denied when he attempted one in a Week 7 game.

At least that one came in a victory for the Packers, who defeated the Texans 24-22 on Brandon McManus' walk-off field goal.

Even though Packers fans may have been salty about Chicago winning on their home turf, it doesn't really register as a competitive win. Green Bay did use its starters to begin the game before pulling them in the second quarter since its playoff spot was already locked in.

On the other side, Bears fans and players deserve to enjoy any win over the Packers. This marked their first victory in one of the NFL's oldest rivalries since December 2018.

The Packers' 11-game winning streak prior to their Week 18 loss was the longest for either team in the rivalry that began in 1920.

Williams' comments only add more fuel to the fire for when the Bears and Packers play during the 2025 season. They will meet twice in a three-week span from Weeks 14-16, with the first meeting at Lambeau Field on Dec. 7.
