The four-time All-Star has eight home runs in 24 games to open the 2025 season.
His season debut was delayed until May 23 as he recovered from a torn ACL that ended his 2024 campaign after just 49 games.
Acuña looked like his former self right away upon returning, hitting a home run on the first pitch he saw.
The 27-year-old has Home Run Derby experience, competing in the event in both 2019 and 2022. Acuña is still searching for his first win in the contest, reaching the second round in 2019.
He's also attempting to participate for a chance to become the first player in Braves history to win the Home Run Derby.
Acuña has been limited by injuries as of late, but has showcased his power at the plate when healthy. He appeared in 159 games during the 2023 season, racking up 41 home runs and 106 RBIs while earning unanimous National League MVP honors.
The 27-year-old has 173 homers in 746 games played throughout his eight-year career.
While Acuña hasn't officially been invited to appear in the 2025 Home Run Derby yet, he's hopeful that he'll be able to compete.
