Angel Reese Announces 'Mebounds' Merch in Video After Trademark in Response to Trolls

Andrew PetersJun 19, 2025

Angel Reese is capitalizing on the catchphrase given to her by trolls this season.

After trademarking the phrase "Mebounds," which was used to mock Reese for grabbing her own misses, the Chicago Sky announced a new line of merchandise on Thursday. She included a hashtag in her post that says "hating pays too."

The 23-year-old announced her plans to trademark the phrase in a TikTok video earlier this week.

"Whoever came up with the 'mebounds' thing, y'all ate because 'mebounds', rebounds, crebounds... anything that comes off that board, it's mine," she said. "And a brand? That's six figures right there. The trolling, I love when y'all do it because, like, the ideas be good. Like, when y'all have to alter my face and s--t because I'm cute, alright, whatever. That doesn't get me. But when y'all came up with 'mebounds'—because statistically, all the rebounds that I get aren't always just mine. They're, like, the defenses, too, or somebody else on my team—but, when y'all came up with 'mebounds,' y'all ate."

She acted swiftly in getting the trademark, and now she could be on her way to a lucrative new business venture.

One of Reese's early struggles in the WNBA has been her offensive game, as she has a career field-goal percentage of just 38.9, but she makes up for it with her rebounding and defense. She's averaging 11.7 boards per game this year, 4.5 of which come on the offensive end.

She also showed she's making some progress on the offensive end earlier this week when she posted her first career triple-double with 11 points, 13 boards and 11 assists.

While Reese is thriving in the business world, her team is still struggling. The Sky are 3-8 on the season and looking to turn things around soon.
