Panthers' Aleksander Barkov Takes Stanley Cup to Neighbor's Houses at 5 AM on Video

Timothy RappJun 18, 2025

Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov wanted to celebrate his team's championship with all of his neighbors.

The team's general manager, Bill Zito, said during a Wednesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that Barkov carried the Stanley Cup around his neighborhood into the early hours of the morning, and one of Barkov's neighbors confirmed the story with footage from his Ring camera:

Barkov definitely kept the party going last night:

It was the second consecutive Stanley Cup triumph for Barkov and the Panthers, and quite the memorable series for the captain, who didn't manage a goal against the Edmonton Oilers but did have five assists (all of which came between Games 4-6) while regularly matching up against superstar Connor McDavid.

His early goose eggs in the series likely came down to a pair of sutures he needed after he "split the palm of his hand" in Game 1, as head coach Paul Maurice told reporters. Maurice added that the sutures kept tearing, so Barkov... glued his hand closed.

Yes, that's right, he glued his hand closed.

"He had those sutures turn out twice until he just glued it together, so that had something to do with his point production," Maurice told reporters, smiling.

In the past two seasons, Barkov has won two titles, been named the Frank J. Selke Trophy winner as the top defensive forward in the NHL twice, the King Clancy Memorial Trophy once ("best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community"), has literally glued his hand shut to keep playing and has disturbed his neighbors at 5 a.m. in the best way possible.

That right there is quite the run.
