Brad Marchand Poses With Stanley Cup in Viral Photo from Panthers' Celebrations
Brad Marchand is ready to celebrate the Florida Panthers' championship win in style.
Marchand was spotted at the Panthers' Wednesday celebration at the Elbo Room in Fort Lauderdale with three beverages, a cigar and the Stanley Cup.
Another video of Marchand at the celebration showed him joining in on a chant thanking the Boston Bruins for trading him to Florida:
Marchand, who scored six goals in the Final, secured the second Stanley Cup of his career with the Panthers' 5-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in Tuesday night's Game 6.
The Panthers celebrated by finding Marchand's name on the Cup from his 2011 win with the Bruins:
The Panthers sent a conditional second-round 2027 draft pick to the Boston Bruins in March in order to acquire Marchand's expiring contract at the trade deadline.
The former Bruins captain slotted in on the Panthers' third line, from which he contributed 10 goals and 10 assists in 23 playoff games.
Panthers forward Sam Bennett credited Marchand after Game 6 as a key reason the Panthers were able to recover from last offseason's turnover and win a second straight championship.
"I truly don't think we win a Stanley Cup without him," Bennett said after winning the Conn Smythe, per ESPN's Greg Wyshysnki. "His leadership, his will to win, it's inspiring. I was telling him before every game, 'We're going to follow you.' And we did. He was a dog every night. He for sure could have won this trophy."
Marchand and the Panthers' Stanley Cup celebrations will continue throughout a summer highlighted by this weekend's victory parade. The celebration is set to begin on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.
