Noah Lyles Cancels Race Against NFL's Tyreek Hill Due to 'Personal Reasons'
Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill won't be racing after all.
The Olympic gold medalist told reporters on Tuesday that he's canceling the matchup despite plans being in the works.
"We were very deep into creating the event," he said. "In fact, it was supposed to happen this weekend. Unfortunately, there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn't come to pass, but we were full on. We were going to shut down New York's Times Square and everything, it was going to be a lot of fun."

Hill took to social media to share his reaction to the news:
Hill and Lyles have gone back-and-forth talking trash since the latter won gold in the 100m dash at the Paris Olympics, with the Miami Dolphins receiver challenging him to a 50m race.
Hill, a two-time track champion in high school, ran the 100m in 10.15 seconds earlier this month. It was an impressive time, though it paled in comparison to Lyles' performance at the Paris Games (9.79 seconds).
It seemed a touch odd that an NFL player thought he could beat a literal Olympic champion in a race, but Lyles said the race was something that was very much planned.
"A lot of people didn't believe it to be true. They thought it was just, 'Oh, this is just them talking online,'" he said. "The companies didn't believe it's real."
For now, it's on hold, likely until after the 2025 NFL season. Whether the hype for the showdown is eventually rekindled remains to be seen.
