Chargers Drop Hype Teaser Video for New Alternative Jerseys to Be Revealed in July

Already the owners of the best-looking jersey in the NFL, the Los Angeles Chargers are teasing a new alternate look for the 2025 season.

The Chargers dropped a hype video teasing their new alternates with a full reveal to come on July 15.

Even though the Chargers' official website did not offer any specific details about the new look, team president of business operations A.G. Spanos did explain the reasoning behind adding another alternate jersey:

"We've always considered ourselves to be leaders in the uniform space. We take pride in the fact that the Chargers are widely considered to have the best uniforms in the NFL; some even argue in all of sports. One of the main reasons for that is our continued push to evolve, authentically, with every opportunity. That's what this is about."

This will mark the first change to the Chargers' uniform rotation since 2020. They made their iconic powder blue jerseys part of their primary home uniform in 2019.

The Chargers' royal blue and navy uniform has served as their primary alternate home jerseys. They did not use the royal blue alternates at all during the 2024 season, going with just three different combinations.

A new alternate jersey won't be the only change for the Chargers' look in 2025. Head coach Jim Harbaugh implemented a policy to include patches on practice uniforms to recognize individual or team accomplishments.

For instance, Derwin James has multiple patches on his practice jersey for playoff appearances and All-Pro selections during his tenure with the Chargers.

As long as the Chargers don't mess with the powder blues in any way, nothing they do with any of their uniform combinations can be considered a bad thing. If they find a way to improve on that look, this might be the year they finally break through and get to a Super Bowl for the first time since the 1994 season.
