Red Sox's No. 1 Prospect Roman Anthony Watches Marcelo Mayer's 1st MLB HR in Video

Roman Anthony had the chance to watch his teammate reach a major milestone on Saturday.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Marcelo Mayer, the No. 8 overall prospect according to MLB.com, blasted his first home run in the majors against the New York Yankees on Friday.

Anthony, who is with Triple-A Worcester, was tuned in to see the moment.

Anthony, an outfielder, is the top prospect in both the Red Sox organization and in all of baseball, so it likely won't be too long before he's in Boston alongside Mayer. For now, he'll watch his teammate thrive from afar.

Anthony has nine home runs, 25 RBI and a .291 batting average in Triple-A this year.

Mayer was called up from Triple-A last month and made his debut on May 24. In 10 appearances, Mayer has recorded a home run, two RBI and a .206 batting average.

The Red Sox have struggled so far this year, currently sitting in fourth place in the AL East at 30-35. While a World Series might not be on the horizon, the future looks bright in Boston with prospects like Anthony and Mayer.
