Nick Bosa Says Brother Joey Considered 49ers 'For a Moment' Before Bills Contract

Andrew PetersJun 4, 2025

Joey Bosa ultimately became a Buffalo Bill this offseason, but he briefly considered teaming up with his brother on the San Francisco 49ers.

Nick Bosa said Wednesday that he talked to his brother about joining the Niners this offseason, and Joey thought about it.

"Maybe for five minutes on the phone with ... maybe I can't say that ... but maybe for a moment," Nick said, per 49erswebzone.com's David Bonilla.

Joey ended up signing a $12.6 million deal with the Bills, and Nick respected that decision.

"But business is business, and I'm happy for him," Nick said. "He's got a pretty good opportunity over there."

The Bosa brothers both played at Ohio State, but missed each other by a year since Joey's last season was 2015 and Nick's first was in 2016. Teaming up in San Francisco would have given them the first opportunity to play together at a high level.

Nonetheless, the two will look to put together strong seasons for their respective teams.

Nick missed some time due to injury last year, but still racked up 52 tackles and nine sacks in 14 games. Joey also played 14 games, collecting 22 tackles and five sacks with the Los Angeles Chargers.
