Christian McCaffrey 'as Healthy as Can Be' After Injury Rehab, 49ers HC Shanahan Says
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that star running back Christian McCaffrey is "as healthy as can be" on Thursday.
McCaffrey appeared in just four games last season, as his 2024 debut was delayed until Week 10 due to Achilles tendinitis in both legs. He then missed San Francisco's final five contests of the regular season with a PCL right knee injury.

His lack of availability hurt the 49ers offense, as he was coming off a 2023 campaign in which he amassed 2,023 all-purpose yards and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors.
San Francisco missed the playoffs in 2024, finishing with a 6-11 record.
McCaffrey is participating in OTAs without restrictions as he prepares for the 2025 season, an encouraging sign for the 49ers.
The three-time Pro Bowler has been hampered by injuries over the past few years, suiting up in just 47 of a possible 84 games since 2020.
As McCaffrey gears up for a potential resurgent season in 2025, Shanahan confirmed that the health issues that plagued him during the 2024 season aren't bothering him anymore.
