Hardest Path in Stanley Cup Playoffs 😩

Panthers vs. Hurricanes Betting Odds, Player Props and Picks for May 22

Joe TanseyMay 22, 2025

Labeling Game 2 of any playoff series as a must-win is reckless, but you can argue that the Carolina Hurricanes are in that specific situation in the NHL Eastern Conference Final.

Carolina dropped Game 1 to the Florida Panthers to extend a 13-game losing streak in the conference final round.

To avoid a 0-2 deficit, the Hurricanes must stick to their identity, put a lot of pucks on net, and hopefully beat Sergei Bobrovsky multiple times.

Winners and Losers From the 2026 NHL Regular Season

Seth Jarvis Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-120)

Seth Jarvis recorded 13 shots on goal in the last three games.

Jarvis was second on the Hurricanes' roster in shots on goal in Game 1 with four. Sebastian Aho led the team with six.

Jarvis is one of the Carolina players who must be at his best in Game 2 to try and end the franchise’s ECF losing streak.

He’s been one of Carolina’s most accurate shooters this postseason, with three or more shots on goal in six of 11 games.

Sergei Bobrovsky Over 26.5 Saves (-120)

Sergei Bobrovsky turned away 31 Carolina shots in Game 1.

The Florida netminder is expected to face a ton of attempts again in Game 2 with Carolina chasing the win.

Carolina has forced the opposing goalie to make 27 or more saves in four of the last six games.

Hurricanes Money Line (-135)

Prior to Game 1, Carolina was undefeated at home in the postseason.

Carolina held the New Jersey Devils and Washington Capitals to two goals or less in four of those five wins, so the blueprint is there for the Canes to win.

They also scored at least three goals in every one of those home wins. A decent goal total is expected if Aho, Jarvis, Andrei Svechnikov and others once again produce a high volume of shots on net.
