Red Sox's Walker Buehler Shades Mets' Francisco Lindor For Rooting for His Ejection
Following his ejection from Tuesday night's game against the New York Mets, Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Walker Buehler had some choice words for one of the opposing team's star players.
In response to a video of Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor celebrating his ejection, Buehler threw some shade in his direction by tweeting, "I wouldn't want me out there either."
Buehler was ejected in the top of the third inning after a heated argument with umpire Mike Estabrook. Red Sox manager Alex Cora was also ejected after he came to the defense of his pitcher.
Cora, however, said he met with Lindor on Wednesday and there were no hard feelings:
Buehler explained his post later in the day on Wednesday:
Prior to being pulled from the game, Buehler didn't allow a hit in 2.1 innings and had four strikeouts with two walks. Despite losing their starter so early, the Red Sox went on to earn a 2-0 win, with Boston's bullpen holding New York to just four hits over the remainder of the game.
The Red Sox will look to complete the series sweep of the Mets on Wednesday night. Buehler's next scheduled start is on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles.
