Juan Soto Reacts to Boos During Yankee Stadium Return in Viral Video After Mets Loss
Juan Soto has made his return to Yankee Stadium.
The former New York Yankee and current New York Met ventured back to his former home for the first time Saturday for Game 1 of the team's Rivalry Weekend series against the Yankees.
His old team got the upper hand this time with a 6-1 victory and it also gave Yankee fans a chance to jeer at their former star. After the game, Soto told reporters he was "ready" for the reception he was going to receive in the Bronx.

Fans jeered at Soto when he came to the plate and when he was in the field. When he made a catch at the warning track, he made sure to offer a souvenir to the hostile crowd.
Despite his team's struggles, Soto had a respectable day. He went 0-2 with three walks and scored the team's only run on a Brandon Nimmo RBI single.
Soto played one season for the Yankees in 2024 after being dealt to the team by the San Diego Padres. He hit .288/.419/.569 with 41 home runs and 109 RBIs while helping the team reach the World Series.
He would go on to sign a 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets in the offseason and will be a consistent presence in the cross-town series. He is hitting .255/.380/.465 with eight home runs and 20 RBIs through his first 43 games with his new team.
While his numbers aren't at the level his were last year at this point, his production has still helped the Mets get out to a 28-17 start to the season. The Yankees have had a similar start at 26-18 and will take Friday's victory as a satisfying victory over a former friend.
