Red Sox Tease Green Monster-Themed City Connect Uniforms in Video Ahead of Release
The Boston Red Sox are unveiling their new City Connect uniforms on Friday.
Ahead of the release, the Red Sox teased the new uniforms on social media. While they didn't give any details about the new threads, it appears they'll be themed after the iconic Green Monster at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox unveiled their first City Connect uniforms in 2021 and kept them through the 2024 season. The yellow and blue jerseys took inspiration from the Boston Marathon and Patriots Day.
Though Boston decided after the 2024 season to move on to a new City Connect uniform, Red Sox chief marketing officer Adam Grossman also announced last September that the team would continue to use them as a core uniform.
"MLB allows Clubs who have a current City Connect jersey the ability to redesign it after several seasons," Grossman told Chris Cotillo of Mass Live in September. "Given the popularity of our yellow uniforms with our players and fans, we have elected to keep it as a core uniform offering for the foreseeable future. We will unveil a City Connect 2.0 uniform in 2025 and will no longer wear our blue alternate jerseys."
MLB and Nike established rules in 2023 that limited teams to just four core uniforms and one City Connect. The Red Sox had an empty core slot and filled it with the old City Connects.
Now, the stage is set for a new set of City Connect uniforms for Boston.
After choosing a bold colorway for the previous uniforms, it seems the Red Sox are taking a similar route this time. The team's CEO, Sam Kennedy, said earlier this year that the City Connect uniforms would turn some heads and hinted that they would be green.
"I can tell you that they will be controversial," he said on MassLive's Fenway Rundown show. "And I think you're on the right track in terms of the color scheme that you mentioned. There might be a theme with a certain wall in left field."
After hinting that the uniforms would be connected to the Green Monster in some way, fans will finally get their first look at the jerseys on Friday.
