Elgton Jenkins Reportedly Skipping Packers Workouts Over Contract Concerns
Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins is looking for more financial security as he moves from guard to center, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
"That's the reason he has so far stayed away from the offseason workouts, multiple sources told ESPN," per Demovsky.
The Packers insider said Jenkins is well aware of the possible financial ramifications of being a full-time center.

The two-time Pro Bowler has two years left on a contract that averages $17 million annually. Whereas that ties for second among centers, it would rank just 11th among guards.
Jenkins and his agent are looking ahead to his next contract, when he's likely to make less than he would've if he stayed at left guard.
Demovsky wrote the Packers "almost never adjust contracts with more than one year remaining." They might be content to let Jenkins miss some workouts, knowing it's too costly for him to skip training camp.
Demovsky went on to posit that guaranteeing a portion of what the 29-year-old is owed could be enough to resolve the situation. None of his 2025 and 2026 salary is guaranteed, so that would at least give him a little more certainty of his future earnings. Green Bay, meanwhile, wouldn't be on the hook for any new money.
Given his positional change, having Jenkins at voluntary workouts would make the Packers feel a little better. It's too early to be overly concerned by his absence, though.
