Caitlin Clark Reveals Individual Goal for 2nd WNBA Season with Fever
Caitlin Clark says her goal for her second WNBA season is to follow up her record-breaking rookie campaign by taking on a larger leadership role with the Indiana Fever.
"When you're the point guard, you've got to be the strongest voice on the floor," Clark said at the 5:30 mark of the Fever's season-opening press conference on Thursday. "I think, at times, that's where I struggled last year.
"Just coming in as a rookie, you don't know when to use your voice, you don't know when to listen to your vets, you don't know the best way to handle a lot of those situations. So I think just learning, and growing through that, I think just being a really good leader is my main goal."

Clark previously described herself as an "emotional leader" of her Iowa team while setting the all-time NCAA scoring record in college.
Following the Fever's selection of Clark at the top of the 2024 WNBA draft, she was named the league's Rookie of the Year after setting multiple rookie and league records in her first season.
The former Iowa star set WNBA standards for assists and turnovers in a single season, and broke the record for points recorded by any rookie or guard. She became the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double, then added another for good measure.
The Fever added multiple experienced players this offseason including DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard and Sydney Colson.
Clark has previously expressed excitement about getting the chance to play with Bonner, telling reporters in April that the six-time All-Star is a "selfless leader."
Indiana leaders including head coach Stephanie White will hope these veteran additions can help Clark achieve the leadership goals she's set for next season.
