Dodgers vs. Marlins Betting Odds, Player Props and Picks for May 5
Sandy Alcantara’s return to the mound hasn’t gone well.

Alcantara’s ERA jumped almost two full points after his last outing versus the Dodgers, who lit him up for seven earned runs on seven hits.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
A handful of the Dodgers’ top bats have incredible numbers against Alcantara, which makes him the top fade on Monday’s MLB slate.
Sandy Alcantara Under 15.5 Outs (-125)
Alcantara has been nowhere close to Cy Young form.
In fact, he’s not even close to middle-of-the-pack form through six starts in 2025.
Alcantara pitched only 2.2 innings last week against the Dodgers, and he’s made it past the fifth inning twice in his six appearances.
The seven hits were an issue in the last meeting with the Dodgers, but so were the five walks Alcantara issued.
He’s walked multiple batters in five of six starts, a factor that just adds to him being on the mound shorter than most aces.
Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)
It’s hard not to get excited about Dodgers player props.
It’s actually difficult to pick which player is the best to target because three Dodgers have multiple home runs against Alcantara and four hitters have a batting average over .300 versus the right-hander in over 10 at-bats.
Mookie Betts fits into both categories. He owns a .438 batting average, two home runs and six RBIs in 16 career at-bats versus Alcantara.
Betts got a single off Alcantara on April 29 as part of one of his two multi-hit games against the Marlins last week.
Betts continued that hot run at the plate into Atlanta, where he had a pair of multi-hit games over the weekend.
A handful of players would be great choices from the Dodgers' lineup, but Betts’ history against Alcantara and recent form at the dish make him the top selection.
Dodgers Run Line (-1.5; -135)
The Marlins lost Alcantara’s last three starts by a combined score of 27-6. They failed to cover the run line in each of those games.
Five of the last eight losses suffered by the Marlins were by multiple runs.
On the other hand, the Dodgers covered the run line in five of their last seven victories, including the 15-2 thumping against Alcantara and a 12-7 win over the Marlins last week.
