Jordan Davis' $12.9M Contract Option Exercised by Eagles for 2026 NFL Season

Adam WellsApr 30, 2025

Having established himself as a key member of the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive line, Jordan Davis had his $12.9 million fifth-year option on his rookie contract picked up on Wednesday.

Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz first reported the news.

Davis was Philadelphia's top pick in the 2022 draft (No. 13 overall). He was part of a class that included Cam Jurgens and Nakobe Dean.

The Georgia standout elevated himself into the top half of the first round after posting the best athletic testing score of any defensive tackle at the NFL scouting combine dating back to 1987.

Davis spent most of his rookie year rotating in and out of the lineup when the Eagles had the deepest defensive line in the league. He recorded two quarterback hits in three playoff games during their run to Super Bowl 57.

Going into the 2023 season, Davis moved into the starting lineup. The 25-year-old has started 39 consecutive games over the past two seasons, including all five playoff games.

The 2023 campaign was a breakout for Davis. He recorded five quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks and two tackles for loss playing on the interior.

Davis had a career-high three tackles for loss during the 2024 season. He added two quarterback hits during the postseason to help the Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 to win their second Super Bowl title.

Even though Davis doesn't post eye-popping stats in the box score, his size and ability to absorb blocks to free up other players in the front seven has been widely credited with helping the Eagles turnaround on defense last season.

When you combine that with a $12.9 million salary that would rank as the 27th-highest among all defensive tackles currently in the NFL, it's easy to see why the Eagles want to keep Davis for at least the next two seasons.
