Travis Hunter Fantasy Football Scoring Rules Revealed by Yahoo After 2025 NFL Draft

There have been some questions about how Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter will be classified for fantasy football next season, given his desire to be a two-way player as both a wide receiver and cornerback.

For people who play in leagues who only utilize offensive positions and a team defense, the clarification won't make much difference beyond deciding whether you believe Hunter will earn enough stats at wideout to justify an early selection.

Early on, at least, it sounds as though the Jaguars will prepare him to play wideout, though he'll see time on both sides of the ball.

"His intent is on playing both sides of the ball, as is ours. When it comes to his onboarding process we'll give him a heavy dose of offense, and sprinkle in the defensive side of the ball, knowing that by the time we get to the regular season, those should be balanced out," general manager James Gladstone told reporters. "But that's the initial onboarding plan as it stands today."

It's worth nothing that in redraft leagues, the Jaguars have Brian Thomas Jr., who is coming off a fantastic rookie season and likely will remain the top overall target for Trevor Lawrence. So Hunter is more of a speculative add in the middle rounds than anything else.

If you are in an IDP league, however, Hunter is enormously valuable, given that you could slot him in at cornerback and also earn wide receiver points. And if you are in an IDP dynasty league, Hunter is one of the most valuable selections... ever?

And no, that isn't an exaggeration. Getting wideout stats at cornerback is absurdly valuable. He'll be a popular pick early in IDP formats.
