ESPN's Field Yates Reveals Travis Hunter, Cam Skattebo, Favorite Picks from NFL Draft

Julia StumbaughApr 29, 2025

ESPN's Field Yates believes the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles made the five best picks in Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Yates praised the Jaguars for trading up from No. 5 to No. 2 to select Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, pairing him with 2024 first-rounder Brian Thomas Jr. to form what Yates called "one of the most exciting receiver duos in the league."

The ESPN analyst liked the Colts' selection of tight end Tyler Warren, whom he ranked as something of a steal at No. 14 overall. Yates called the pick "value at a need," given that Warren could now enter training camp as the top tight end option for either Anthony Richardson or Daniel jones.

The Seahawks were another team that earned praise by targeting a position of need at No. 18 with guard Grey Zabel, described by Yates as a "plug-and-play addition" to Klint Kubiak's offense.

Yates also liked the Vikings' addition of guard Donovan Jackson at No. 24. The choice gives Minnesota another player to protect J.J. McCarthy during what is projected to be his first NFL season, and Yates noted that Jackson started at both guard and left tackle during his final season for Ohio State.

The Eagles earned a spot on the list toward the end of the round by moving up one spot to draft linebacker Jihaad Campbell at No. 31. Campbell slipped down the draft after having shoulder surgery in March, but Yates noted that the Eagles could make it through the start of the 2025 season without him and called an eventual trio of Campbell, Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean "a frightening scene for opposing defenses."

Beyond the first round, Yates spotlighted the New York Giants' selection of running back Cam Skattebo in the fourth round as one of his favorite picks, as the burly Arizona State tailback projects to form a dynamic one-two punch with 2024 draftee Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Outside of the Eagles, who may need to wait until training camp to see Campbell, the other four teams on Yates' list could get their first look at their first-round picks' fit when rookies are allowed to report to training camp in July.
