Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There is undoubtedly a ton of hype surrounding Manning as he enters his first season as the starting quarterback after two years backing up Quinn Ewers.
And to be fair, he's looked fantastic when called into action, throwing for 969 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions in 12 total appearances while completing 66.3 percent of his passes. He's also rushed for 115 yards and four touchdowns, showing off his athleticism.
Given his lineage as the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, expectations have always been sky high. But in the limited appearances he's made, especially filling in as the starter last season while Ewers was out injured, he's impressed.
A good season would basically guarantee he'll be in the conversation to be both the first quarterback and first player off the board.
Allar should be in the mix as well. Penn State's starting quarterback threw for 3,327 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions last year, completing 66.5 percent of his passes, while leading the Nittany Lions to the College Football Playoff.
A dreadful performance in the semifinals against Notre Dame, however—he was just 12-of-23 for 135 yards and had a back-breaking interception in the final minute of the game that set up Notre Dame's game-winning field goal—was not the way he would have wanted to end his season. He'll need to erase that tape from the minds of NFL evaluators.
Finally, Nussmeier had a career year in 2024, throwing for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes. He'll need to prove he can cut down on the turnovers, but he proved he had upside last season for the Tigers.
