Talladega Superspeedway, the largest oval on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule at 2.66 miles, hosted its 110th race on Sunday, with drivers completing 188 laps in Alabama.

Denny Hamlin and Larson have dominated the Cup Series recently, each winning two of the last four races. Hamlin grabbed back-to-back victories at Martinsville Speedway and Darlington Raceway, while Larson triumphed at Homestead-Miami Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.

Coming into Talladega, Chevrolet’s Byron led the Cup Series standings, holding a 30-point lead over Toyota driver Denny Hamlin and a 41-point advantage over third-place Christopher Bell, also driving a Toyota.

Following the race, Kyle Larson climbed two spots to second place in the standings, now 32 points behind leader Byron, who held firm with a fourth-place finish Sunday. Bell slipped two positions, while race winner Cindric jumped seven spots to No. 15.

Here is a look at the Cup Series standings:

Cindric clocked his fastest lap of the day at 48.55 seconds and led seven laps, taking over the top spot on lap 182 after spending much of the day battling in the top 10.

The race was packed with drama: Bell crashed out, several drivers were penalized for speeding on pit road, Joey Logano cursed out his teammate Cindric, and a chaotic scene unfolded when Josh Berry sideswiped a member of Carson Hocevar’s crew.

The action will resume next Sunday at the Würth 400 presented by LIQUI MOLY at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
