Kenny Pickett Favored over Shedeur Sanders in Betting Odds to Be Browns QB1 in Week 1

Betting odds for the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback in Week 1 of the 2025 season were released on Sunday.

Kenny Pickett currently has the highest odds to win the starting job at -110, via DraftKings Sportsbook. Shedeur Sanders has the second-best odds at +175.

The Browns traded for Pickett in a March 10 swap with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cleveland also added Sanders in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft on Saturday.

He was the second quarterback that the Browns acquired in the draft, as they previously selected Oregon's Dillon Gabriel in the third round. Gabriel has +500 odds to be the team's Week 1 starter.

Pickett opened his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers after he was selected with a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

He failed to meet expectations on Cleveland's AFC North foe, completing 62.6 percent of his throws for 4,474 yards and 13 touchdowns compared to 13 interceptions through his first two years in the league.

Pickett was eventually dealt to the Eagles, where he served as a backup during their Super Bowl run last season.

Despite his reserve role in 2024, he's been determined to move back up the depth chart with his new team.

"That’s the plan, man [to start]," Pickett told Jerry DiPaola of TribLive.com on April 12. "I'm not going there to hang out. I want to go play. I'm excited, been working hard for it, taking it a day at a time."

The 26-year-old has his sights set on a starting spot once again, and he's currently favored to earn the job.
