Jalen Ramsey, Amari Cooper's Best Landing Spots After 2025 NFL Draft

Zach BacharApr 26, 2025

The 2025 NFL draft came to an end on Saturday, as teams filled out their rosters with a wide array of young talent.

Front offices still looking for players that can make an immediate impact will continue to scour the trade market and stay active in free agency while preparing for training camp.

Two such players are seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey and five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Here are three possible future destinations for Ramsey and Cooper.

Ramsey signed a three-year extension worth $72.3 million with the Miami Dolphins in Sept. 2024 that keeps him under contract through the 2028 season, but he isn't guaranteed to play out the rest of his deal in Miami.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on April 15 that Ramsey and the Dolphins were "mutually set" to explore trade options and it "wouldn't be a surprise" if he experienced a change of scenery.

Here are three potential trade destinations for the 30-year-old.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons' playoff drought is tied for the second-longest in the NFL, as their last postseason appearance occurred during their 2017 campaign.

With Michael Penix Jr. expected to enter the 2025 season as a full-time starter, Atlanta will be hoping that it can compete in the NFC South.

Adding a battle-tested veteran such as Ramsey, who has 10 games of playoff experience under his belt, could provide a boost to the Falcons' secondary.

CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones previously reported that Atlanta is among the teams that should have "some level of interest" in the corner "if the price is right."

Detroit Lions

Detroit clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC and entered the playoffs with a 15-2 record last season, but suffered a disappointing 45-31 defeat at the hands of the Washington Commanders in the divisional round.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels thrived through the air, finishing 22-of-31 for 299 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

The Lions' coverage was inconsistent in 2024, owning the NFL's third-worst pass defense. While that can be partially attributed to Detroit taking early leads and forcing opposing offenses to become one-dimensional, the team could still be a possible suitor for Ramsey.

Los Angeles Rams

A reunion with Los Angeles could be in the cards for Ramsey, as he played 57 games for the team from 2019-2022. He won a Super Bowl with the Rams during the 2021 season.

Los Angeles didn't select any cornerbacks or wide receivers in the 2025 draft and could be on the hunt for a veteran contributor instead.

Rams general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay didn't rule out trading for Ramsey when speaking to reporters prior to the draft.

Amari Cooper

Cooper spent the 2024 season with the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills before hitting free agency, hauling in 44 receptions for just 547 yards and four touchdowns in 14 combined games.

Still, he's only one season removed from a 2023 campaign in which he caught 72 passes for 1,250 yards.

Here are three teams that could look to sign him following the draft.

Dallas Cowboys

Cooper previously joined the Cowboys in a trade during the middle of the 2018 season, suiting up in 56 games with the team before leaving to join the Browns in 2022.

Dallas has been on the hunt for a complementary wideout alongside CeeDee Lamb, and Cooper could be viewed as a fit in that role. He'd bring experience to a wide receiver room that includes Jalen Tolbert, KaVonte Turpin and Jonathan Mingo.

New Orleans Saints

Similar to the Cowboys, the Saints are looking for a player to pair alongside their standout receiver. Chris Olave should still serve as New Orleans' No. 1 option in the pass game next season, but the team doesn't have a wide array of weapons behind him.

The Saints selected Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 draft, and he might find himself starting under center before the regular season comes to a close.

If New Orleans wants to help ease Shough's transition to the NFL, it could sign a veteran such as Cooper.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle's wide receiver corps underwent major changes during the offseason, as the team parted ways with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba will operate as the top weapon for new quarterback Sam Darnold, and the Seahawks also signed Cooper Kupp in free agency.

Seattle picked Colorado State wide receiver Tory Horton in the fifth-round of the 2025 draft and added veteran Marquez Valdes-Scantling as a free agent.

If the team doesn't feel comfortable relying on either player right away, Cooper may be under consideration.
