Deion Sanders thanked the Cleveland Browns after the franchise drafted his son Shedeur Sanders with the No. 144 pick on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft.

The 7:20 mark of a video shared by Well Off Media shows Deion leaning in to repeatedly say "thank you" while Shedeur appears to speak to a team representative on the phone.

Deion then asks to speak with general manager Andrew Berry.

Sanders, who was predicted as a first-round pick in many mock drafts, surprised many NFL fans with his slide into the fifth round.

The Browns ultimately ended the slide Saturday when the franchise traded the No. 166 and No. 192 picks to the Seattle Seahawks in order to select Shedeur.

Both Sanders and Deion celebrated the news Saturday on social media:

"I would say I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity throughout everything," Sanders told reporters after being drafted on Saturday, per ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi. "I don't ever focus on the negative or even think about the negative because the positive happened so fast and it's a change of emotions.

"For me, it was just playing quarterback. That's what it's about. You can't be up, too low or anything. You got to be able to celebrate. And when we score a touchdown, we celebrate for a little bit. Now it's back to time to work, it's time to go."

A stream featuring the Sanders family throughout the three days of the NFL draft showed both Shedeur and his father expressing surprise at his fall out of the first round.

Shedeur said Thursday night that his fall would add "fuel to the fire," and that "we all know this shouldn't have happened, but we understand we're on to bigger and better things."

Deion then said Friday about teams passing over Sanders: "This to the point now where y'all gotta stop."

Sanders now has his answer as to which NFL team will give him an opportunity, although it remains to be seen where he will end up on the Browns depth chart.

He will now join Oregon's Dillon Gabriel, selected by the Browns in the third round, alongside Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and an injured Deshaun Watson in Cleveland's quarterback depth chart.
