Shedeur Sanders Says NFL Draft Slide is 'Unexplainable' to Deion, Shilo in New Video

Shedeur Sanders doesn't have an answer for why he is still undrafted heading into the final day of the 2025 NFL draft on Saturday.

In a video from Well Off Media posted after the day two on Friday (starts at 20:00 mark), Shedeur is seen telling his father, Deion, and brother, Shilo, his slide is "unexplainable" now that it's reached this point.

Sanders not going in the first round is actually pretty easy to explain. There had been rumblings in the days leading up to the start of the draft that plenty of teams didn't really view him as a first-round prospect.

Even with some obvious quarterback-needy teams in the first round, Sanders seemed unlikely to be selected among the first 32 picks.

Sure enough, the round came and went with Cam Ward (No. 1 overall) and Jaxson Dart (No. 25) as the only quarterbacks selected on day one.

There were still teams in need of quarterback help going into day two that seemed like they could take a swing on Sanders. Instead, he found himself left in the cold once again.

The most surprising of the three quarterbacks selected on day two was Dillon Gabriel to the Cleveland Browns at No. 94 overall. Gabriel was the 10th-ranked quarterback and No. 163 overall prospect in the 2025 class, per B/R's NFL scouting department.

Cleveland was once considered a popular landing spot for Sanders, but the organization seems to be planning more for 2026 after acquiring a first-round pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars as part of the deal for the No. 2 selection this year.

There have been a lot of attempts to explain why Sanders is still available. The most common one is that he was a poor interviewer during his in-person meetings with teams.

It's certainly odd to see someone with Sanders' pedigree and accomplished college resume still waiting to find a home in the NFL, but if the right situation comes along on day three and he develops into a star player, this will merely be regarded as a blip on the radar.
