Shedeur Sanders Reportedly Hasn't Been Taken Off NFL Teams' Draft Boards Amid Slide
You would never know it based on how the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL draft played out, but Shedeur Sanders is believed to still be on individual team's draft boards.
Per The Athletic's Jeff Howe, there's no indication Sanders has been taken off the board by teams as despite not being among the 102 picks that have happened thus far.
Even in a muddled quarterback class with no obvious high-level talent after Cam Ward, who was the No. 1 pick to the Tennessee Titans, the idea of Sanders being at best the sixth player at the position off the board would have been absurd to think on Thursday.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Dillon Gabriel, who was the final quarterback selected on day two at No. 94 overall by the Cleveland Browns, was the 10th-ranked player at his position by B/R's NFL scouting department.
B/R scout Dame Parson wrote Gabriel is "undersized without an elite trait, like speed or arm talent, to alleviate any concerns NFL front offices may have."
Every team is going to have a different evaluation of each player, but few people would argue that Sanders looked like a much better NFL prospect than Gabriel over the course of their college careers.
At this point, whether he gets drafted or winds up having to sign as an undrafted free agent, Sanders would seem to have very little shot of going into 2025 as a starting option for a team.
The last time a quarterback drafted on day three started in Week 1 as a rookie was Dak Prescott with the Dallas Cowboys in 2016. That only happened because Tony Romo suffered a back injury during the preseason.
All that matters for Sanders right now is finding a team that's willing to give him a shot and proper development to maximize his talent at the next level. Everyone is eagerly awaiting when his name will get called, but the landing spot is just as important at this stage of the draft.
