Shedeur Sanders Posts 'Another Day, Another Opportunity' Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft Day 3
Not being picked in the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL draft doesn't seem to have dimmed Shedeur Sanders' spirits.
In a post on X, Sanders wrote "another day another opportunity to get a chance to play the game I love" hours before the start of the final day of the draft.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
For a long time, there was an expectation that Sanders was going to be a first round pick.
Even as the draft got closer and the whispers about Sanders falling out of the top 32 picks grew louder, no one was anticipating the second day with two full rounds would pass without his name being called.
Now, everyone has been trying to figure out what has happened that caused Sanders to not only fall out of the first three rounds, but to have several quarterbacks who weren't as highly-regarded as him come off the board before him.
Tyler Shough (New Orleans Saints), Jalen Milroe (Seattle Seahawks) and Dillon Gabriel (Cleveland Browns) were the three quarterbacks selected on day two of the draft.
B/R's NFL scouting department ranked Sanders as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 class. Milroe was fourth, followed by Shough at seven and Gabriel at 10.
The Ringer's Todd McShay said on Thursday that two personnel people he spoke with from teams picking in the top 10 got the sense during their in-person interview with Sanders at the combine "did not go well" and they got the sense he "did not care what we thought of him." (starts at 23:32 mark)
Even with some of the questions about Sanders coming out of the combine, it's still stunning to see his star fall this far. NFL Teams will almost always take a chance on a player, particularly a quarterback, with the amount of talent all of the scouting reports suggest he has.
There don't seem to be any concerns about Sanders' character or any notion that he is a bad teammate.
Looking ahead to the third round, there aren't anymore obvious fits for Sanders. The Browns, Saints and New York Giants have all drafted quarterbacks already.
The Pittsburgh Steelers would seem like an option, but they are still waiting on Aaron Rodgers. Jerry Jones told reporters after day two on Friday the Dallas Cowboys have an "extremely high" opinion on Sanders, but they don't see him as a fit with Dak Prescott as the starter.
At some point, the value is just too great for a team to ignore Sanders. Everyone would have assumed that was going to happen on Friday, but instead he has to wait another day to finally hear his name called.
