Trey Hendrickson, Jadeveon Clowney's Best Landing Spots After 2025 NFL Draft Day 2
Trey Hendrickson has been seeking a trade this offseason as he and the Cincinnati Bengals remain at odds over an extension, and the possibility of him being dealt seemingly remained high after the team drafted edge-rusher Shemar Stewart in the first round.
Likewise, Jadeveon Clowney looks like a potential trade chip for the Carolina Panthers after the team signed Pat Jones II in free agency and drafted Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen on Friday.
So, with both players likely on the trade block, what teams might make sense as suitors?
Detroit Lions

The Lions could seriously benefit from adding an edge-rusher next to Aidan Hutchinson, especially after they didn't address the position during the first two days of the NFL draft.
Marcus Davenport is a solid player, but he's never had a single season with double-digit sacks and has 24 career sacks in seven seasons. Hendrickson has four seasons with double-digit sacks and has eclipsed Davenport's career sacks in the past two seasons alone.
If the Lions don't want to pay to extend Hendrickson, however, Clowney would provide a solid depth option. Bolstering on the edge next to Hutchinson would make sense for the Lions.
New England Patriots

The Pats had an NFL-worst 28 sacks last year, and while the offseason additions of defensive tackle Milton Williams (five sacks) and edge-rusher Harold Landry (nine sacks) will help, adding more bite in the pass rush would make a ton of sense.
Granted, giving up draft assets may not make the most sense for a team clearly in a rebuilding mode. But the Patriots didn't address the pass rush in the first two days of the draft, leaving it as an ongoing need (among the team's many).
The Patriots have the cap space and the need. When you have to face Josh Allen twice a year, bolstering your pass rush is never a bad allocation of resources, be it for Hendrickson or (to a lesser extent) Clowney.
Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have cap space, they face Patrick Mahomes twice a year and adding a player like Hendrickson would make it much more difficult for teams to send double teams at Maxx Crosby.
Is edge the biggest need for this team? No. But you can't go wrong harassing an opposing team's quarterback. It's a recipe for success and Las Vegas didn't add to the position after the first three rounds of the draft. Adding either Hendrickson or Clowney would be an aggressive, win-now move for Pete Carroll and company.
