Nick Chubb, Keenan Allen's Best Landing Spots After 2025 NFL Draft Day 2

Timothy RappApr 25, 2025

Veteran running back Nick Chubb and wideout Keenan Allen or two of the biggest names free agents remaining in the NFL.

So, after the second day of the NFL draft on Friday, what are some of their best possible destinations?

Let's break it down.

Chubb's Best Landing Spots

Chiefs Browns Football

Chubb's injury history makes him a depth player for NFL teams at this point. After returning from an ACL injury that required two surgeries, Chubb appeared in eight games, finishing with 332 yards and three touchdowns. But he then broke his foot in December, ending his season.

So, what teams might be interested in a platoon back going forward?

Cleveland Browns

The team's decision to draft Quinshon Judkins in the second round reportedly doesn't mean that Chubb's time in Cleveland is over.

A return to the Browns, in a platoon with Judkins and perhaps Jerome Ford, might be the best possible outcome for both sides.

Chicago Bears

The Bears were believed to be one of the teams that might make a push for Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, but not only did the team abstain from trading up to land him, they haven't drafted a running back at all in the first three rounds.

A thunder-and-lightning duo between D'Andre Swift and Chubb could make some sense, replicating—albeit at a less talented level—the Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery duo new head coach Ben Johnson had in Detroit.

Dallas Cowboys

Why not?

The Cowboys brought aboard Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders this offseason to replace Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott, but neither inspire much confidence. Why not add another veteran to the mix and see what shakes out?

New Orleans Saints

Chubb could be the boom to Alvin Kamara's wiggle, with the pair offering a solid one-two punch.

Allen's Top Landing Spots

Bears 49ers Football

Allen disappointed in his lone season in Chicago, at least by his lofty standards, catching 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games. But teams in need of a targets magnet with plenty of career pedigree, Allen could be intriguing.

New York Jets

Garrett Wilson will be Justin Fields' top target this season, but getting him a reliable option like Allen as a complementary piece in the passing game would make sense. He would be an upgrade over Allen Lazard and Josh Reynolds.

Dallas Cowboys

Are you sensing a theme?

The Cowboys need more playmakers on offense. Allen may not be the field-stretching option that would be a more natural complement to CeeDee Lamb, but at this point, the Cowboys need to get Dak Prescott more weapons. Allen would give them a very solid No. 2 receiver.

Cleveland Browns

Whether it's Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett or third-round pick Dillon Gabriel—no, not Shedeur Sanders, but Dillon Gabriel—starting games for the Browns next season, adding more weapons for them would make sense.

The Browns added Judkins at running back and Harold Fannin Jr. at tight end on Friday, but adding a third option at wideout next to Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman would make sense. Allen would be a nice pickup.
