NFL Draft 2025 Team-by-Team Grades and Analysis for Rounds 1-3
A handful of teams made significant improvements through the 2025 NFL draft.
The Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys were among the teams that came away from the first three rounds with multiple impact players.
Chicago's clear focus came on offense, where new head coach Ben Johnson has two new weapons to throw into the system for Caleb Williams to work with.
Dallas added quality on the interior in the first round and on defense with its pair of Day 2 picks.
Not all teams will leave Green Bay with praise for their top draft selections. The New Orleans Saints reside at the top of that list of teams for a questionable second-round choice.

The Bears added two weapons to Ben Johnson’s offense with their first two selections.
Colston Loveland is the tight end of the future. He’ll start as a complement to Cole Kmet in two tight end sets, but the Michigan product should take over as the starter by next season.
Luther Burden was a five-star recruit when he joined the Missouri program. He left with 21 touchdowns and 2,263 receiving yards after three seasons.
Burden and Rome Odunze have the potential to be Caleb Williams one-two tandem for quite some time once D.J. Moore leaves town.
For now, the Bears have two young wide outs to complement Moore and a pair of strong tight ends who can succeed inside Johnson’s offense.
Dallas Cowboys - A
3 of 4
The Dallas Cowboys came away with quite the haul over three rounds.
Alabama guard Tyler Booker was one of the top interior linemen in the draft class and he’ll step into the hole vacated by the retired Zack Martin.
In the second round, the Cowboys added support for Micah Parsons in the pass rush with Boston College EDGE rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku, who had 16.5 sacks last season.
Ezeiruaku had 47 tackles for loss and 30 sacks across his four seasons in the ACC.
Cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. fell to the third round because of a torn ACL suffered early last season. Revel is a first-round talent and will be viewed as a steal if he fully recovers and shows off his first-round form in Dallas.
New Orleans Saints - C
4 of 4
The Saints didn’t have to pick Tyler Shough with the 40th overall pick.
The pick felt like a reach when it occurred because of where the Saints could’ve lande the Louisville signal-caller.
The Saints probably could’ve waited until the 71st overall pick to land their insurance policy for Derek Carr. In that case, the Saints would’ve been able to add a difference-maker on either side of the ball. Two tight ends and three defensive linemen were taken in the five picks after Shough.
New Orleans might have panicked because it may have viewed Shough as the ideal candidate to potentially replace Carr, if he isn’t healthy by Week 1, but given how the draft played out after that, the quarterback selection could’ve been made later.
