Packers' Matt LaFleur Suggests Roger Goodell Supports Effort to Ban Eagles' Tush Push

"I think he's on our side on that one," LaFleur said Friday on The Pat McAfee Show.

The decision is ultimately down to the NFL's team owners. Goodell remained diplomatic, laying out the cases for and against banning the tush push. He said the result of any final vote will speak for itself.
Owners left the NFL's annual league meeting this month without making a determination. They chose instead to table the motion for a later date, perhaps as early as May.
While Goodell toed the line in his McAfee interview, he has supported a broader rule that banned pushing or pulling players, saying it "makes a lot of sense in many ways because it expands it beyond that single play."
"There are a lot of plays where you see someone pulling or pushing somebody that are not in the tush push formation that I think do have an increased risk of injury," he told reporters after the league meeting. "And so I think the committee will look at that and come back in May with some proposals."
A lot of fans in Philly would likely not be thrilled to see that change enacted, though it remains to be seen if there's enough support league-wide to push the rule change through.
Twenty-four teams will need to vote in favor of the proposal to make it official.
In general, people who follow the NFL would probably just like clarity on the issue at this point.
