Cam Ward, Travis Hunter, Jaxson Dart and Jeanty Videos of Draft Phone Calls Revealed
One of the highlight moments of every NFL draft is when the players receive a phone call that will change their life forever because it's from a team telling them they are being selected.
Teams have taken to using those moments as highlights on social media for the world to enjoy.
The 2025 NFL draft opened with Cam Ward receiving the call from the Tennessee Titans informing him that he was being selected No. 1 overall.
That was followed by Travis Hunter receiving a call from the Jacksonville Jaguars, who made a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns minutes before the draft started, for the No. 2 pick that allowed them to select the 2024 Heisman winner.
Ashton Jeanty not only got to speak with Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek moments before they announced him as the No. 6 pick, but he celebrated in the moment with his family surrounding him.
New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen was busy on Thursday night, starting with taking Abdul Carter with the third pick. He then got back to work by facilitating a trade with the Houston Texans for the No. 25 overall pick, which was used to select quarterback Jaxson Dart.
The call from Schoen to Dart was captured by the Giants.
Even the most cynical person would find it hard not to be moved by the reaction from any young athlete whose lifelong goal is coming true in that moment when their phone rings.
Fans can have their complaints about certain picks and whether or not their team got proper value, though that's not likely the case with any of these four selections. Dart is the only potentially controversial one, but his selection fills a long-term need for the Giants.
The Titans, Jaguars and Raiders drafted the three best players at their respective positions in this class. Ward will be tasked with stabilizing Tennessee's quarterback situation that has been extremely volatile over the past few seasons.
Hunter is one of the most unique talents to enter the NFL in years. Jeanty is a bulldozer with speed to run away from defenders who gives Pete Carroll his new Marshawn Lynch.
While time will tell if these prospects turn their potential into performance, for one night they were able to just think about how all their hard work paid off as they begin their journey to the NFL.
And we all got to see the moment they learned about it.
