Deion Sanders Celebrates Travis Hunter to Jaguars in Video After NFL Draft Trade

The first player from the Deion Sanders era in Colorado was drafted to the NFL on Thursday.

Two-way star and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter was selected second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Sanders was hyped to see him get taken off the board.

Hunter was the first former Buffalo to be drafted since 2021 and was Colorado's first first-round pick since 2011. He's also tied for the earliest draft pick ever for the Buffs.

The Jaguars traded their No. 5 pick, a second-round pick (No. 36), a fourth-round pick (No. 126) and a 2026 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns to move up and draft Hunter, and it's no surprise they were willing to give up such a haul for a generational player.

Jaguars general manager James Gladstone called Hunter a player who can "alter the trajectory of a game."

"There are players that you can target and acquire who alter the trajectory of a game. There are players that you can target and acquire that alter the trajectory of a football team," Gladstone said on the team's draft show on YouTube after selecting Hunter (h/t ESPN's Michael DiRocco). "There are very few, and it's rare to be able to target and prioritize a player who can alter the sport itself. And Travis is somebody that we view has the potential to do that.

Hunter, a standout on both sides of the ball, was the No. 1 player on the final big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

While Sanders was hyped to see Hunter get taken early, he'll likely have a few more of his players off the board before the draft is over, including his son, Shedeur Sanders. While Shedeur wasn't taken as early as many expected, he's one of the best quarterbacks in this year's draft class and should get picked up soon.
