Latest Cowboys, Browns Draft Rumors
Niners fans took to social media to share their excitement over the addition of a top-tier defensive lineman:
Joining 27-year-old Nick Bosa, who recorded 52 total tackles, nine sacks, one interception and one forced fumble last season, the 20-year-old pass-rusher is a perfect addition to a 49ers defense aiming to bounce back after last season’s 6-11 finish.
In Bleacher Report’s final mock draft ahead of the 2025 draft, the scouting department projected the edge-rusher to go much later, at No. 28 to the Detroit Lions, where he would join Aidan Hutchinson and head coach Dan Campbell.
The scouting department compared him to former No. 5 pick and Pro Bowler Ezekiel Ansah, who was drafted by the Lions.
B/R NFL scout Matt Holder outlined several of Williams’ strengths:
— Good size and frame and appears to have long arms.
— Against the run, he's strong and physical at the point of attack to gain control of the block and get extension.
— Impressive upper body strength and is violent when shedding blocks to escape against offensive linemen.
— Impressive movement skills and athleticism to grow as a pass-rusher at the next level if his use of hands improves.
— Has flashed a solid long-arm move and has the motor to collapse the pocket.
— Good agility to be an effective looper on line games.
On Bleacher Report’s final Big Board, Williams ranked as the No. 4 edge-rusher and 25th overall player.
