Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Slay, who signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers after getting released by the Eagles this offseason, added that he believes the Eagles are "still the favorite in the NFC."
The Eagles turned in a dominant 2024 season, going 14-3 before running through the NFC playoffs and clashing with the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
While the Chiefs were going for a record third consecutive Super Bowl win, they had no answers for the Eagles, who cruised to a 40-22 victory thanks largely to the play of their defense.
Philly's defensive line made life miserable for the Kansas City offensive line and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the Eagles intercepted Mahomes twice as well.
Last year's draft played a big role in the Eagles winning their second Super Bowl in franchise history, as they completely reshaped the secondary by selecting Mitchell in the first round and Cooper DeJean in the second round.
Mitchell immediately established himself as the Eagles' CB1, starting 16 games as a rookie, while DeJean had a pick six in the Super Bowl.
The Eagles lost some key players this offseason in pass-rusher Josh Sweat, guard Mekhi Becton and defensive tackle Milton Williams, but they still return one of the deepest rosters in the NFL on both sides of the ball.
Given how they played in the Super Bowl, there is little doubt that the Eagles are the team to beat in 2025.
