Cam Ward Hyped by Titans Fans as Franchise QB After Going No. 1 in 2025 NFL Draft
The Tennessee Titans will have a new face at quarterback, selecting Miami's Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday night.
Ward is the third consecutive quarterback to be chosen with the top pick in the draft, and the seventh in the past eight years.

Fans and pundits praised the selection.
Ward is coming off an impressive senior season with the Hurricanes, finishing No. 4 in Heisman Trophy voting.
In 13 games, he completed 67.2 percent of his throws for 4,313 passing yards and led the country with 39 touchdowns through the air. Ward was also picked off just seven times.
Ward was listed as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 9 overall prospect in the draft on the most recent big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.
B/R NFL Scout Dame Parson compared Ward to former three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Steve McNair in his scouting report.
"In conclusion, Cam Ward is among the most gifted throwers in the NFL draft class," Parson wrote. "The combination of arm talent, mobility/athleticism, and accuracy is what the NFL is looking for in potential franchise QBs. He has superstar potential if he can cut down on mistakes/risky decisions."
Tennessee's selection of the signal-caller doesn't come as a major surprise, with ESPN's Turron Davenport reporting on Tuesday that "all signs point toward" Ward being the No. 1 pick.
The Titans were present at the quarterback's pro day in Miami on March 24 and also held a private workout with him afterwards, which reportedly went very well.
Tennessee wrapped up a 3-14 finish in 2024, dealing with inconsistent play under center. The Titans owned the NFL's seventh-worst passing attack, while their quarterbacks combined to throw for just 22 touchdowns compared to 21 interceptions.
As Tennessee attempts to bounce back in 2025, the team will now move forward with Ward.
