Bears Reportedly Eye Trade Up in 2025 NFL Draft, 6 Top-10 Teams Open to Moving Down

The Chicago Bears may have multiple suitors willing to help them trade up from the No. 10 pick of the 2025 NFL draft.

According to the New York Daily News' Pat Leonard, the Bears are looking to trade for a higher pick, while six teams within the top nine "are open to moving back" ahead of Thursday's draft.

The Tennessee Titans recently confirmed they are sticking with the No. 1 pick, leaving the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints among the potential trade candidates.

Round 1 of the draft kicks off Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.

ESPN's Peter Schrager reported that the Browns (No. 2) and Giants (No. 3) have received trade interest in their first-rounders, and that "neither team is outwardly rejecting those overtures."

The Patriots (No. 4), Jaguars (No. 5), Raiders (No. 6) and Panthers (No. 8) have also been identified as teams open to trading back by Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer or ESPN's Adam Schefter.

According to Schrager, teams eyeing a move up into the top three are expected to use the pick on Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Penn State edge-rusher Abdul Carter or Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported Wednesday that the Bears "have been linked to Jeanty for weeks, and they are hoping they can snag him at 10."

The Denver Broncos, whom Schefter reported "have made inquiries about moving up in Round 1," could potentially present competition for the Bears.

Moving up high enough to snag a top prospect like Jeanty, who's ranked No. 6 overall on the B/R NFL Scouting Department's final big board, would be a more costly proposition for the Broncos from the No. 20 pick.

On the other hand, Breer wrote Wednesday that "if there’s a player who will elicit a trade up into the top 10, I think it will be Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty—whether it’s the Denver Broncos taking a big swing or the Chicago Bears making a shorter move to leapfrog another team."

Ryan Poles is the only general manager entering the draft with three top-50 picks, per ESPN's Courtney Cronin. The fourth-year GM could potentially cash in on that draft cache to add a potential immediate impact player like Jeanty to Caleb Williams' offense.
