Shedeur Sanders to Browns Day 2, Giants Trade for Dart in Todd McShay's NFL Mock Draft

NFL draft expert Todd McShay unveiled his latest mock draft on Wednesday, and he had some surprising predictions for a pair of highly-touted quarterback prospects.

McShay predicted that Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders would slide out of the first round entirely before being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round with the No. 33 pick. Perhaps even more surprisingly, McShay projected the New York Giants to trade back into the first round by acquiring the No. 28 pick from the Detroit Lions and using it to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart over Sanders.

B/R's NFL Scouting Department ranks Sanders and Dart as the No. 2 and No. 3 quarterback prospects, respectively, in its draft big board. However, the only signal-caller considered a lock to be chosen in the first round is Miami's Cam Ward, who is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans.

Sanders had long been considered the next-best quarterback prospect in this year's class, but his stock has taken a major hit in recent weeks, with many wondering whether he's worthy of being a first-round pick. The Pittsburgh Steelers had been considered a potential landing spot for him with the No. 21 pick if he slides, but McShay reported on Tuesday that "it might not even be a 50 percent chance that they take him at 21."

Dart was the biggest riser among quarterbacks during the pre-draft process, but it would still be a major indictment on Sanders if a team traded back into the first round to select the former Runnin' Rebel while he's still left on the board.

However, the Browns surely would welcome the opportunity to have Sanders fall into their lap at No. 33 and pair him with the prospect they select with the No. 2 pick, who could be Sanders' old teammate and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.
