Shedeur Sanders Slides Out of Round 1, Jeanty to Jags in Charles Davis' NFL Mock Draft
NFL Network's Charles Davis released his third 2025 NFL mock draft on Wednesday, and it featured only one quarterback coming off the board in the first 32 selections.
Davis had Miami's Cam Ward going No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans, but he projected all other quarterbacks to fall to the second round, including Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart.
He also predicted a somewhat surprising pick at No. 5 overall with the Jacksonville Jaguars taking Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
3. New York Giants: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
4. New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
6. Las Vegas Raiders: Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
7. New York Jets: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

10. Chicago Bears: Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
Sanders has been considered a near certainty as a first-round pick and the No. 2 quarterback in the draft behind Ward for quite some time.
After beginning his collegiate career at FCS Jackson State, he followed his father, head coach Deion Sanders, to Colorado for his final two seasons.
Sanders quickly proved he belonged at the high level of FBS football, and he truly seemed to reach his potential last season, completing 74.0 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
In addition to leading the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record, Sanders was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.
While there may be some questions regarding Sanders' ability to translate to the NFL, it is difficult to envision him falling out of the first round.
The Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21 would perhaps be hard-pressed to pass on him, and if they do, there is seemingly a good chance that a team like the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants would trade back into the end of the first round to take him.
As for Jeanty, it can be argued that he is the best offensive player in the draft after a dominant 2024 college season that saw him rush for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns en route to finishing second in the Heisman Trophy voting.
The Jags don't necessarily stand out as a team with a huge need at running back with Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby on the roster, but Etienne averaged just 3.7 yards per carry last season and he is entering a contract year.
A running back like Jeanty would take a ton of pressure off quarterback Trevor Lawrence and perhaps aid more in his development than any other pick the Jags could make.
There is risk in taking a running back that early, especially one who carried the ball 374 times last season, but Jeanty is a player who could completely change an offense for the better as soon as his rookie season.
