Chandler Martin is a solid coverage linebacker who has decent instincts against the run and speed when coming downhill. That gives him the potential to make an NFL roster as a rookie, especially if he can prove himself on special teams.

— Solid instincts against the run and as a pass-rusher to shoot gaps to get unblocked tackles or find rushing lanes to get pressure on the quarterback.

— Decent sideline-to-sideline range.

NEGATIVES

— Lacks the quickness and lateral-movement skills to effectively slip blocks from offensive linemen on the second level.

— Gets stuck on blocks because he either doesn't use his hands to take on blocks or has subpar arm length and strength at the point of attack to get extension against offensive linemen.

— Needs to add some sand in his pants to anchor against offensive linemen in the running game.

— Can get caught staring in the backfield too long in zone coverage. Misses threats coming into his area.

— Doesn't consistently bring his feet when tackling, leading to misses.
