Ravens' Mark Andrews Says His Gloves Were 'Soaked' for Crucial Playoff Drop vs. Bills
Few plays throughout the 2024 NFL season were as shocking as Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews' drop on a two-point conversion that would have tied his team's AFC Divisional Round game against the Buffalo Bills in the final two minutes.
The veteran opened up about the play in a Tuesday piece by ESPN's Jamison Hensley and revealed his gloves were "soaked" after he collided with Isaiah Likely on the previous play and fell to the snowy turf.
"I'm thinking, 'Do I take it off? Do I not?' It was so fast and so quick that it just happened," Andrews said. "And at the end of the day, I still should have caught the ball. I still should have made that play."

Buffalo recovered the ensuing onside kick and preserved the 27-25 victory.
Andrews even took to social media in the aftermath to apologize to Ravens fans:
At least some good did come out of it for the tight end. Hensley noted Bills fans helped organize a charitable drive that led to $146,000 being donated to Breakthrough T1D, which works to improve the lives of those who have Type 1 diabetes like Andrews.
If nothing else, the three-time Pro Bowler will surely be motivated to bounce back from the disappointing end to his 2024 campaign.
He was fairly productive last season with 55 catches for 673 yards and a career-best 11 touchdowns and figures to be a major part of the offense once again in 2025.
And if he has another situation like the one against the Bills, he will likely take off his "soaked" gloves to put himself in a better position to make the key play.
