Jah Joyner NFL Draft 2025 Scouting Report for Raiders EDGE
The Las Vegas Raiders added Minnesota EDGE Jah Joyner as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL draft.
Jah Joyner checks the size and length boxes of an NFL defensive end and has the potential to become a solid pass-rusher at the next level.
He rushes with a plan by tying his pass-rush moves together and using effective countermoves. That allows him to play the game within the game, winning with one move early and using it to set up another move later in the game, keeping offensive tackles guessing. He's also solid at turning speed to power to collapse the pocket.
However, the former Golden Gopher isn't quick-twitched or a high-level athlete, which could impact his ability to win consistently in the NFL. Additionally, he lacks bend to turn tight corners at the top of the rush and isn't good at working the hands after contact.
As a run defender, Joyner can be effective at setting the edge when he plays physical and keeps his hands tight. But more often than not, he lacks physicality at the point of attack, plays high and has wide hand placement that prevents him from using his long arms. He'll also get reached due to his lack of block recognition.
Overall, Joyner can be a solid rotational pass-rusher and has tools to develop to potentially become an every-down player later on in his NFL career. Schematically, he'd be best as a traditional defensive end in even fronts.

POSITIVES
— Good size and arm length for an NFL defensive end.
— Ties his pass-rush moves together well to have solid countermoves if he doesn't win initially.
— Decent rip move to win around the edge. Has also shown the ability to win with a rip move as a counter off the bull rush.
— Solid at turning speed to power to occasionally collapse the pocket versus offensive tackles.
— Has a good inside spin move as a countermove.
NEGATIVES
— Not quick-twitched or a high-level athlete. Also lacks explosion off the line of scrimmage to win with speed as a pass-rusher.
— Subpar bend to turn tight corners at the top of the rush.
— Plays high and lacks lower-body strength to anchor against offensive linemen in the running game, especially when facing down blocks.
— Has wide hand placement as a run defender, exposing his chest and preventing him from taking advantage of his arm length to get extension on blocks.
— Poor block recognition, making him susceptible to getting reached against outside zone runs.
