Davante Adams Says He Was at a Club at 3 a.m. When Sean McVay Called About Rams Deal
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay may not have been aware of the time difference when he reached out to wide receiver Davante Adams to discuss a potential partnership.
Adams told The Athletic's Michael Silver he was on a vacation in Japan when he looked at his phone to see he was getting a call from McVay.
"McVay is calling me, I'm out at a club and it's like 3 a.m.," he said. "I'm like, You know what? He's like (39) years old. I can tell him (where I am)."

Whether it was on that call specifically or a different chat, whatever the coach said convinced the six-time Pro Bowler. Silver wrote how "McVay’s candor resonated with Adams, who takes great pride in his craft — and takes umbrage with those he feels aren't appreciative of his excellence."
McVay went all out to explain where Adams fit into a passing game that needed to replace Cooper Kupp.
The idea of suiting up for Los Angeles clearly excited Adams as well. It's probably safe to assume there are some teams whose calls would be going straight to voicemail at 3 a.m.
