Hollin Pierce NFL Draft 2025 Scouting Report for Philadelphia Eagles OT

BR NFL Draft Scouting Dept.

The Philadelphia Eagles added Rutgers OT Hollin Pierce as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL draft.

Hollin Pierce is a four-year starter with 13 starts at left tackle inside Rutgers' 57-43 run-pass split, multiple run game. Pierce has a massive frame, wingspan and length with a thick build and extra weight around his midsection. He has adequate athletic ability and solid play strength.

Pierce is a functional run-blocker with enough initial burst to reach his aiming points, cover up and blot out targets on overtakes and scraping 'backers on his climbs to create lanes off his backside. He will struggle to regain leverage and control against shifty defenders, leaving him easily slipped and edged. Pierce also shows marginal redirect skills on the move, resulting in sporadic ability to intersect smaller targets.

In pass protection, Pierce shows smooth initial footwork out of his stance with ready hands and timely strikes to weaponize his length and disrupt the timing of a rusher's move. Once his feet stop or rushers execute stutters and hesitations prior to attacking outside, Pierce uses his length to widen corners and widen the arc against high-side rushers. However, he shows marginal range to expand, quickly swinging open with late feet to short the corner.

Overall, Pierce is a chore to work around in pass protection when he has help to box rushers into his grasp, and he can trap and cover up targets in the run game to create seals and alleys. However, he will struggle to win leverage, sustain and recover with his head up. With his size, crafty approach and excellent intangibles, he should be able to stick as a long-term, quality backup tackle who can get a team out of a pinch.
