NFL OC Says Riley Leonard is a Sleeper QB Prospect and 'The Best One to Develop'
An NFL offensive coordinator believes Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard could be one of the biggest sleeper picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
"He’s the best one to develop. I think he has a lot to work with," the coordinator told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman. "He’s a great athlete. Really good basketball player. Smart. Really tough.”
Leonard began his college career at Duke, spending three seasons there and leading the Blue Devils to bowl appearances in both 2022 and 2023. Over that span, he completed 61.7 percent of his passes for 4,450 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He transferred to Notre Dame for his senior year, guiding the Irish to a 14-2 record and an appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship, where they fell 34-23 to Ohio State.
In that title game, Leonard completed 22-of-31 passes for 255 yards, two touchdowns through the air and another on the ground.
He wrapped up his senior campaign with 2,861 passing yards and 21 touchdowns, but despite his production, Leonard has largely flown under the radar as a draft prospect.
According to Bleacher Report’s Scouting Department, he isn’t even projected to be selected within the first three rounds—a reality that could work in favor of teams looking for value in the later rounds.
