Shohei Ohtani's family has officially added a new member.
The Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star was put on paternity leave ahead of Friday's matchup against the Texas Rangers. He revealed on Instagram Saturday morning that he and his wife, Mamiko, had welcomed their baby daughter to the world.

He thanked the Dodgers organization and fans for their support in addition to the "medical professionals and everyone who dedicated their support to us."
Ohtani announced in December that he and his wife were expecting their first child.
He is in his second season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and has hit .288/.380/.550 with six home runs and eight RBIs in 20 games. His efforts have helped the Dodgers start the season 15-6 as they look to defend their 2024 World Series title.
Ohtani is eligible to miss up to three games while on the paternity list. The Dodgers will play Saturday and Sunday in Texas and will be off on Monday so he could potentially return to the lineup on Tuesday when the team faces the Chicago Cubs.
