Cam Ward Signs Under Armour Contract, New Video Revealed Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Having become an official partner with the NFL again, Under Armour widened its footprint on the gridiron by signing Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Sports Illustrated's Conor Orr noted this could be the first year since 2011 an Under Armour athlete is picked first overall in the NFL draft.

The company announced in March it resumed its partnership with the NFL after having severed their business relationship in 2021. Without Under Armour being an official apparel provider, its athletes were prohibited from showing the UA logo during games.

That didn't preclude from Under Armour inking individual deals with NFL stars. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver is its most prominent client.

But the new NFL deal seemed to signal a larger commitment to pro football by Under Armour. Adding Ward to its portfolio is further evidence given his status within the 2025 draft class.

The reigning ACC Player of the Year threw for 4,319 yards and 43 touchdowns in his lone season with the Hurricanes. He's the top-ranked quarterback and No. 9 overall prospect on Bleacher Report's 2025 big board, and he's projected to land with the Tennessee Titans with the No. 1 pick.

Whoever takes Ward will be making a big investment in the hope he can emerge as a true franchise QB. Under Armour is taking the same bet.
